About
A one-man shop, not a marketing agency.
417 Web Co is one person: Peter Hartman — an engineer in Nixa, Missouri, born and raised in the 417.
Before opening this shop, I spent fifteen years making software work: seven of them solely responsible for quality on a high-traffic federal government website, on a fully remote engineering team — writing automated test suites that ran on every release, and authoring QA process documentation that helped the company earn CMMI Level 3 certification.
Today that same discipline goes into small-business websites: static-first builds that load instantly, automated tests before every update, structured data that helps Google understand your business, and infrastructure that's monitored and backed up — with restores actually tested, not assumed.
It's my name on the work: every dollar you spend pays the person doing it, and it stays in the community. I take on a couple of builds a month, so every project gets my full attention.
I respond fastest by email, and I'll always tell you the truth about what you need — including when the answer is "your current site is fine, don't pay anyone to rebuild it."
